Despiau Planet: Great for music, great for forests!
Our passion for wood and its understanding have taught us to recognize the acoustic qualities of a tree, but we also understand how to listen to what the forest itself is saying: climate is changing and so are maple trees and it is high time to stop wasting 200-year-old maples.
This has led us to re-think what “good” wood is. We have decided to radically improve our selection criteria by choosing new maple trees and have created a forest-friendly quality: Despiau Planet!
Despiau Chevalets is a French family business known as well for its design and manufacturing of top-quality bridges for every type of bowed string instrument: violin, viola, cello, doublebass, viola de gamba, viola d'amore.
